Description
We are seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our programs and operations, ensuring seamless integration and maximizing our impact. As a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team, the COO will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to shape our strategic direction and growth. This role involves collaborating with the executive team to achieve long-term goals and delivering effective services that enhance mental health and well-being for our communities and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Supervision
- Provide overall direction and support to our programs.
- Foster communication and collaboration between administrative and program functions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team, promoting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for service innovation and improvement, while addressing barriers to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
- Ensure adherence to trauma-informed and person-centered care principles, emphasizing quality and compassionate service.
Strategic Growth
- Partner with the CEO to identify and pursue opportunities for program expansion that align with client needs.
- Collaborate on comprehensive growth strategies that reflect our mission and values.
- Use data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback to enhance program quality and service delivery.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovative thinking across the organization.
Program Oversight and Evaluation
- Oversee program operations, including strategic planning, budget management, and quality assurance.
- Develop and assess programs to ensure alignment with our mission and strategic goals.
- Utilize a solutions-oriented approach to enhance efficiency and measurable impact.
- Employ data analysis to identify opportunities and challenges clearly and transparently.
Program Integration
- Actively use data to drive integration across behavioral healthcare, social determinants of health, and housing.
- Navigate complex program relationships to achieve holistic outcomes.
- Innovate solutions and identify efficiencies within our diverse program portfolio.
External Relations and Partnerships
- Build and nurture networks and partnerships with community stakeholders, government agencies, and funders.
- Develop relationships with Managed Care organizations to enhance our value-based service offerings.
- Collaborate with the Chief Development & External Affairs Officer on fundraising efforts and donor relations to bolster brand awareness and financial goals.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree is required; a Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred.
- While an LCSW is not required, it is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of executive management experience in the nonprofit sector, with expertise in behavioral health, housing, and shelters.
