At Renaissance, the Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics is responsible for the technical implementation of current and future Business Intelligence solutions. This role involves leading and coordinating projects with other associates, contractors, and strategic partner resources. The Director will partner with business leaders to understand complex business problems, develop key metrics, and conduct analysis that leads to actionable findings.
What will this role entail?
- Partner with business leaders to understand complex business problems, develop key metrics, and conduct analysis that leads to actionable findings and follow-up.
- Own and execute in-depth analysis of product engagement, customer, and business performance data from numerous internal and external sources to understand business, operational, and/or customer needs, impacts, and opportunities. This includes scoping, design, data analysis, creation of recommendations, and presentation of results to key stakeholders.
- Provide consultation to internal customers, offering expertise and analysis to drive user adoption and measurement of strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate BI team involvement in company initiatives and customer interactions, serving as an evangelist for the BI function and solutions within Renaissance.
- Responsible for mentoring and coaching a team of data analysts.
- Interview, onboard, and train new team members.
- Provide guidance to the BI & analytics team on the development and execution of short and long-term strategic initiatives across the business.
- Guide prioritization decisions and consult with analysts on implementation as needed.
- Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify business objectives as needed.
- Enhances the technical knowledge of Renaissance IT systems and tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
What must I posses to qualify?
- BS in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience leading a data analytics team.
- Demonstrates a proven track record of managing team workflow, designing, building, and launching complex solutions, and understanding the effort required to accomplish these activities.
- General knowledge of the insurance industry (health, life, and DI verticals preferred).
- Possesses a solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and maintains general knowledge of SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS (Tabular Model).
- Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to teach, guide, and mentor BI Developer team members, as well as learn from other IT associates.
- Broad knowledge of project management methodologies and requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence or persuade others in positive or negative circumstances.
