Title: Project Manager
Duration: 12 months(with possibility of extension or conversion)
TYPE: Hybrid ( 2-3 days in Toronto)
Background:
The planning and methods team is a support function to the various workstreams in clients Operations Rapid Transit division. Areas of support include Work Block Planning, Supply Chain, and Project Management for various service contract initiatives. The project management team is currently supporting multiple projects including maintenance/service contract mobilization activities, maintenance strategy, Rollout of new standards across the division, and Signals State of Good Repair Projects.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Maintenance Delivery on assigned project(s), the Project Manager is responsible for managing delivery of projects with varying scale and complexity according to time, cost, and quality requirements. The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of project scope and forecasts timelines for project implementation within the project lifecycle, translating Sponsor instruction into a project plan that incorporates functional, technical, operational, and financial (cost) elements.
The Project Manager works with a multidisciplinary team comprised of employees, consultants, and contractors to deliver high-quality service, and as applicable oversees the day-to-day delivery of project team members involved in the coordination and administration of project elements, in a safe and standardized manner. The Project Manager is responsible for managing and monitoring contracts and holding vendors accountable to ensure requirements are meeting clients standards.
The Project Manager provides project reports to multiple stakeholders and Senior Management, including but not limited to: schedule management, cost management, stakeholder management, risk management, design & engineering, quality, safety, and document control and works with the Sponsor to ensure delivery activities are set up to achieve the benefits of the project in alignment with the project agreement.
Requirements:
Education:
- Completion of a degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business, Architecture or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent Engineering or Architectural college/ university degree or diploma
Experience:
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in project management, preferably within the public sector
- Certifications or Designations: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Certified Engineering Technician (CET) or P.Eng. designation or partial completion is an asset
- A valid Ontario “G” Driver’s Licence is an asset for regular site visits.
