The primary purpose of the Nurse Manager role is to direct overall clinical operations and coordinate staff management, patient care, and customer service.
MD Anderson Cancer Center has a Nurse Manager opportunity in the Thoracic Center. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in nursing and at least five years of professional nursing experience, to include one year of supervisory experience in direct patient care activities. Prefer candidates with two years of experience in a supervisory or management role.

EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing.
Experience
Required: Five years of professional nursing experience, to include one year of supervisory experience in direct patient care activities.
Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
Preferred: Two years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area. Certification in Oncology, specialty practice area or administration.
Other
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
