Compliance Business Analyst

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Business Analyst with strong knowledge in delivering compliance and regulatory programs, particularly within the Trade Surveillance and Control Room Surveillance domains. The role will support the Global Compliance Technology arm of the bank, ensuring that the regulatory, risk, and control functions align with evolving regulatory requirements. The selected candidate will work with key stakeholders and technology teams to analyze, validate, and ensure the quality, control, and completeness of data from multiple systems used by compliance applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Requirements:
Gather, analyze, validate, and manage business requirements from relevant stakeholders.
Produce requirements specification documents using structured methodologies and data modeling techniques.
Collaborate with users to assist in writing user stories and use cases.
Develop and write functional and technical specifications for upcoming business requirements.
Prepare process flow diagrams for end-to-end requirements to visualize workflows.
Data Analysis & Solutions:
Analyze data sourced from upstream systems for completeness and correctness, ensuring high-quality data flow.
Develop a comprehensive landscape/architecture for the data flows consumed by compliance applications.
Create and implement processes to maintain controls in data warehouses and operational databases in dynamic and high-volume environments.
Provide strategic solutions for database-related issues in Compliance IT environments.
Testing & Quality Assurance:
Write and execute test plans and test cases during various phases of the project life cycle.
Participate in system testing, collaborate with offshore development teams, and assist business users during UAT.
Interrogate data during testing and ensure that functionality testing and quality assurance are met.
Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with Compliance business stakeholders and cross-functional technology teams to ensure alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements.
Decision-Making & Problem Solving:
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly address production issues.
Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and manage ambiguity with limited information.
Provide solutions for compliance-related technical challenges, ensuring that data quality and controls are robust and reliable.
Required Skills:
Experience:
8-12 years of experience working in Compliance IT or related financial environments, with expertise in Trade Surveillance and Control Room Surveillance.
Extensive experience delivering Compliance and Regulatory Programs.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in data analysis and data flow architectures.
Experience with data warehouses, operational databases, and compliance application systems.
Familiarity with test planning, system testing, and UAT processes.
Strong proficiency in producing business and technical documentation.
Business Knowledge:
Strong financial business knowledge, with a focus on compliance and regulatory frameworks.
Familiarity with risk management and control functions within financial institutions.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of results.
