Overview:
The core function of this role involves Business Intelligence (BI) Modeling, focusing on the design, development, and maintenance of data models. This includes both physical and logical modeling to translate complex business data into efficient, user-friendly computer systems. Data modeling plays a crucial role in optimizing database structures for effective processing, managing the flow of information, and ensuring that data flows seamlessly within the system.
A BI Modeling III - Advanced is regarded as an expert in the field, capable of developing and reviewing models for intricate business scenarios. This role requires deep technological expertise, business acumen, and the ability to mentor and influence others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and standardize best practices for ETL design and data modeling to ensure data consistency and quality.
- Refine and modify data models in response to evolving user requirements or technological changes.
- Implement data integration techniques and data consumption patterns effectively.
- Mentor and train team members in data modeling best practices, including the development and execution of training programs for BI modelers.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), contributing to internal talent development and engaging with external professional communities.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance, both to the business and to fellow BI Modelers.
Tasks and Contributions:
- Lead the execution of integrated IT software development operations.
- Design the data structure needed for metadata management throughout a well's lifecycle.
- Maintain and update the data framework in response to evolving business processes.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure data is transitioned into the correct formats.
- Create high-value data visualizations for stewardship dashboards, enabling insightful decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience: Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and data management systems.
