The Senior IT Systems Support Specialist will be part of the team that supports users and with modern solutions to improve the employee experience. The successful candidate will be working one on one with our internal customers, assisting them with their needs, performing day to day administrative tasks and participating in support projects. The ideal person can work well in a collaborative environment with other IT counterparts while still being effective independently. This is a full-time on-site position and will require reporting to our offices located in Campbell, CA.
Responsibilities, Skills & Hands-On Experience
- Provide technical assistance and support to our employees across our portfolio companies.
- Provide both frontline support for users and escalation support for IT team members.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software-related issues on laptops and workstations in a mixed Windows/Mac/Linux environment (95%/4%/1%), both in-person and remotely.
- Troubleshoot application, hardware, and network-related issues.
- Assist in installation of servers, networking, and storage systems.
- Managing servers through VMware vCenter to maintain high availability for optimal performance.
- Lead and develop new initiatives for endpoints to improve employee experience and productivity.
- Image, deploy, troubleshoot, and manage Windows, Apple, Linux devices.
- Work with the team to analyze infrastructure and identify areas for improvement, enhancements, and standardization.
- Day-to-day administration of on-premises and cloud-based services, security tools, file and print servers, and Office 365 in a multi-tenancy environment.
- Identify, promote and implement solutions to existing and new technical challenges.
- White glove experience with supporting executive and C Suite personnel.
- Microsoft Office (O365) and Microsoft Windows proficiency.
- Experience with managing On-Prem and Cloud solutions.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting with a history of successfully completed automation in Hybrid AD environments.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to take accurate and detailed notes.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to walk frequently to neighboring buildings, regularly encountering steps/stairs.
- Lift up to 25 pounds on a routine basis (desktops, monitors, printers, etc.).
- Comfortable occasionally working in a clean room (Controlled Environment Room) where wearing a full-coverage suit is required.
- Strong foundation in MDM solutions for multiple operating systems.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Available for weekend & afterhours on-call support rotation.
Education & Work Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in IT Support / Help Desk, or an equivalent role where you have demonstrated leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows, MacOS and the Office 365 Application Suite.
- Working experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune, and/or O365 administration.
- Experience working with multiple domains/tenancies is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of maintaining users, groups, and applications within Okta or equivalent service.
- Excellent communication skills, personal initiative, and enthusiasm to help end users.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+ are a plus.
- AA or BS desired but not required.
Our salary ranges are calculated by role and level. Your position within that range will be determined by your job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, and training/certifications. In addition to those factors, we also examine internal equity as well as consider current market rate, and title may be assessed one level lower or higher accordingly. After you join the company your performance, contributions, and results along with business and organizational needs will affect your base salary. The base salary range for this full-time position is between $80,000 to $100,000 + equity + benefits.
