Title: Senior Claim Specialist
Location: Livingston, NJ – 4 days/week in office
Compensation: Salary $80-95k, plus bonus

Overview
The Senior Claim Specialist will be responsible for managing the claims process for clients from start to finish with an exceptional ability to achieve the best possible outcome for the company’s internal and external clients. This position necessitates an experienced claim professional who needs minimal supervision and can deliver exceptional service to our clients. Exposure to a wide variety of claims is a plus. Must be a quick learner and able handle significant volume and competing demands. Timeliness and accuracy in managing responsibilities is required, despite competing demands. This position will have a focus on handling personal lines claims for high-net worth individuals.
Essential Functions
- Must be able to handle competing demands and unpredictability.
- Must be able to handle high-pressure situations.
- Must be a pleasant individual, that can work well with others in a team environment and understand that their contribution and collaboration is essential to the success of the department.
- Must have sound technical proficiency in one or more of the following types of claims: Auto, General Liability, Property and Workers Compensation. Having only Property experience is not acceptable.
- Must have commercial lines experience, personal lines experience is a plus, but only personal lines experience is not acceptable.
- Must be able to hold their own with a difficult client base and keep composure.
- Must be staunchly “solution oriented”.
- Support the Director of Claims and manage the claims process for all assigned responsibilities.
- Be able to identify and work through intermediate to complex coverage issues.
- Must be tenacious in handling difficult and frustrating situations until resolved in a positive manner and in the client’s favor to the extent possible.
- Complete Desk Reviews.
- Establish good working relationships with adjusters at all carriers the company is partnered with.
- Interface with carrier Claim Account Executives.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal Account Executive Teams.
- Autonomously manage specific accounts with minimal supervision from Director of Claims.
- Maintain adequate documentation on all claims in AMS.
- Maintain claims diaries to assure claims are being properly monitored AMS.
- Create independent relationships with clients with oversight only from Director of Claims.
- Be able to negotiate favorable results for clients in all aspects of claims disposition.
- Complete data analysis obtained from various carrier systems for the purposes of assisting in the renewal process with Account Executive teams.
- Coordinate and conduct claim reviews.
- Conduct Claim Closure Projects.
- Ad hoc projects to support the Claims Director.
- Proficiency in the AMS, Applied Epic is a plus.
- Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience.
