About Us: We are a dynamic and growing company specializing in the manufacturing of high-quality tortilla chips and masa. Our three facilities, located within 2 miles of each other in Chicago, IL, are committed to excellence in product quality and safety. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bilingual Quality Manager to lead our quality assurance efforts across these facilities.
Position Overview: As the Bilingual Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the Quality Management Systems (QMS) across our three manufacturing facilities. You will lead a team of up to 8 quality technicians, ensuring compliance with all quality and food safety standards. This role requires a proactive approach to managing HACCP processes, conducting internal and external audits, and ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards. Fluency in English and Spanish is essential for effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management System Oversight:
- Oversee and maintain the Quality Management Systems (QMS) across all three facilities.
- Ensure compliance with SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards and PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of QMS documentation and procedures.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of up to 8 quality technicians.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.
- Facilitate ongoing training and professional development for team members.
- HACCP Compliance:
- Perform all HACCP training, verification, and record reviews.
- Ensure that HACCP plans are properly implemented and followed.
- Monitor and address any deviations from HACCP protocols.
- Audits and Inspections:
- Lead all internal and external audits, including preparation, coordination, and follow-up.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Analyze quality data and performance metrics to drive decision-making and improvements.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to maintain high-quality standards.
- Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters between the facilities and external stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external partners in both English and Spanish.
- Prepare and present reports on quality performance, audit results, and other key metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience overseeing Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.
- SQF Practitioner certification and PCQI certification required.
- Proven experience in managing HACCP processes and performing HACCP training.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Experience with internal and external audits, including regulatory compliance.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with excellent communication skills in both languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
