- Monitor ECS’s data systems and address any maintenance issues including issues pertaining to Performance, reliability, logs, efficiency, design, redundancy systems, failover systems, upgrades, and patches
- Responsible for all ECS databases and data stores both internal and external including, but not limited to: ECS accounting system, human resources and payroll system, and ECS production databases
- Install and configure new database installations and new databases within existing installations
- Establish and maintain data backup systems
- Import, export, filter, and otherwise maintain data for those systems that are the responsibility of the IT Department
- Collaborate with ECS’s software development staff to design databases that best address ECS application enhancement requirements
- Develop policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of ECS’s data stores
- Prepare and maintain documentation to describe these policies and procedures
- Develop policies and standards for ECS’s data design and construction.

- Evaluate, recommend and implement automated tools to aid in database design and construction and data mining
- Evaluate, recommend and implement an overall strategic plan for ECS’s data stores that will maximize efficiency and reliability
