Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Sr Data Engineer with a passion for AI and automotive technology to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure that support our AI initiatives. This role is crucial for ensuring our AI models and algorithms are fed with high-quality, real-time data to optimize performance and drive innovation in automotive electronics.
Principle Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of automotive camera monitoring systems data from various sources.
- Work closely with data scientists, AI developers, software engineers, and product teams to understand data requirements and provide the robust data infrastructure.
- Implement best practices for data governance, security, and privacy, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across various data sources and systems.
- Implement data storage solutions that are optimized for AI workloads, including relational and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Postgres, Scylla etc.), data lakes, and cloud storage.
- Develop and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to prepare data for analysis and model training.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and storage systems.
- Work with large-scale datasets, including structured and unstructured data, and ensure data is readily accessible for analysis.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in data engineering and AI technologies and integrate them into the data infrastructure.
- Self-starter and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
- Have a passion for automation and continual process improvement.
Education, Experience And Knowledge
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in the automotive industry with a focus on supporting AI and machine learning projects OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in the automotive industry with a focus on supporting AI and machine learning projects
- Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, Java, or Scala.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of data privacy and security best practices, particularly in the context of automotive data.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with data versioning tools and practices (e.g., DVC).
- Experience with real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Kafka, Flink).
- Experience with database design, optimization and administration.
