Job Summary:
The Mechanical Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing mechanical systems projects from conception through completion. This role involves leading the planning, design, procurement, and execution phases of mechanical construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems. The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the quality standards expected by the client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Management:
- Lead the planning and implementation of mechanical construction projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Team Coordination:
- Manage and coordinate project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and site personnel, to ensure successful project completion.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact between the client and project team. Maintain regular communication with stakeholders regarding project status, changes, and expectations.
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Develop and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective execution of projects.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid project delays or additional costs.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all mechanical systems installed meet required safety, quality, and code standards.
- Contract & Document Management:
- Prepare, review, and manage project contracts, change orders, and other relevant documents. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Site Visits & Inspections:
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Subcontractor Management:
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and ensure their work is completed on time and meets the project’s quality standards.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all work is compliant with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in managing mechanical construction projects.
- Proven experience in HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems construction.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera, AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
