About The Role
The Senior Systems Architect plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and security of the organization's IT infrastructure and aligning technology solutions with business strategies to support growth and innovation. The Systems Architect Engineer is responsible for the overarching design, configuration, installation, performance tuning, maintenance, and recovery of mission-critical enterprise applications and systems. This role encompasses a broad scope of responsibilities across both on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring the seamless operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. The architect serves as a technical leader, offering expertise in the deployment, maintenance, and administration of complex operating systems, storage solutions, and computing platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions for both on-premise and cloud-based environments, including VMware, Azure Cloud, Active Directory, Exchange, Office365, SQL Server, and more.
- Manage SAN storage and ensure efficient replication and backup strategies using tools like Cohesity, Zerto, and Azure DR.
- Oversee system monitoring, leveraging tools such as DataDog to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Install, upgrade, and configure network services, directory structures, server security, software, and file services, adhering to all security and organizational standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP), utilizing multiple technologies to ensure organizational resilience.
- Lead the creation and management of virtual servers, supporting business needs and operational requirements.
- Design and implement application solutions, document processes, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Spearhead special projects, providing technical leadership and solution design to achieve project goals.
- Maintain email and data loss prevention platforms (ProofPoint, Microsoft E5).
- Conduct testing and implementation of new software, hardware, and updates, ensuring compatibility and performance standards are met using Automox.
- Deploy and maintain endpoint protection platforms (Cisco AMP, Defender).
- Provide round-the-clock support on a rotational basis, offering escalation support to engineering and support teams as needed.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of internal guidelines, operations manuals, and training materials.
- Support the VP of IT Infrastructure with various infrastructure tasks and initiatives.
- Offer backup support to the help desk and PC technicians, ensuring operational continuity.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in IT, focusing on enterprise solutions, operations, and back-office support.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is desirable.
- Relevant technical certifications (Microsoft MCSE)
- Experiences Architects with knowledge of HashiCorp Terraform, VMware VCP are highly desired.
- Proven expertise and 5 years’ experience in server monitoring tools, cloud platforms (Azure), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), Microsoft 365 E5 Suite, Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, VMware, and SAN Storage.
- Comprehensive knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, Ethernet), with hands-on management experience in enterprise environments.
- Ability to lead and manage projects in a cross-functional environment, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Commitment to staying current with industry trends and developments.
Compensation
- 125,000.00- $145,000.00/ year
