This is a Mid/Senior to Sr. Level Cybersecurity Engineer position. This position is NOT for someone who needs direction from the Hiring Manager - the Manager needs someone who requires little to NO direction and is a hands-on person and is NOT a managerial type, not needed.
The Hiring Manager needs a doer, someone who can drive initiatives and move the needle and get thing done, MOST IMPORTANT! This person will able to design and manage their environments; they will need to have expert level experience on Cybersecurity, NOT just security. This group is a managed service group for our client, so they work with end-users from all different departments, which is nice. Not only do they implement the technology, but they also must understand how to assess and shore up any gaps that can bring risk to the organization. Also, this candidate MUST understand how to help suggest and implement processes as well to prevent Cybersecurity attacks from happening.
Skills Needed Needed for this Position:
1. 5 to 6+ Years of Cybersecurity experience is a MUST. This engineer will have moved up from an analyst position and then into a cybersecurity role eventually; they need to have a good concept of Security concepts. They need to have experience managing Security platforms; they need to be a hands-on keyboard engineer; they don’t need consultants or advisors or managers; We need a candidate with hands-on experience building policies and systems; when they build things it is to enable protection and allow the systems to operate in a safe way; being able to supply security privilege of leased privilege; confidential; risk assessment and recognizing what risk exists could bring impact to the organization; Okta (SSO), Proofpoint or something similar.
2. The candidates must have all of the previously listed technical skills to fit this position as well as the technical proficiencies that comes with that; proficiency in the Cloud environment (Azure) is needed; also - must have technical proficiency on switching and routing as well as VDI as it relates to Cybersecurity implementation and troubleshooting.
3. Strong Communication skills, this person will be a Senior Level Engineer so they need to be responsive for end to end management of issues and communicating them to leadership as well as documenting the fixes.
Primary technical skills Needed for this position:
- Designing, building, and managing security platforms.
- Proficient with Okta, Proofpoint, Tanium, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, BeyondTrust, OR equivalent platforms.
- Proficient with Entra ID and Office 365 solutions.
- Focus on accountability and quality of service.
- Objective problem solver able to focus on intersection of Purpose, Priority & Process. (Culture Positive and Collaboration are required).
- Ability to effectively facilitate cross functional teams within all affiliates and able to engage with all levels in the organization.
- Must be able to build relationships and be a great communicator within the IT Team and business alike.
- Strong documentation skills, no information hiding.
