Job Summary
The Sr. Manager, Restaurant Technology Systems is responsible for analyzing restaurant operations and identifying opportunities to enhance processes through the application of Technology in restaurant. You will work closely with Operations, Restaurant Owners and Managers, and Technology teams within Tim Hortons and RBI to understand business needs, gather requirements, and propose innovative solutions to streamline operations, enhance Team Member or Guest experiences, and drive business growth. You will play an important role in optimizing the technology platforms to improve restaurant operational efficiency and elevated guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a background in the QSR, Retail or Hospitality industry, and an expertise in product management, systems analysis and implementation.
Who You Are
- Familiar with QSR, Retail or Hospitality operations and fast-paced customer servicing environments.
- Knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems, back-office systems, inventory and supply chain processes.
- Experience developing product roadmaps, product enhancements, change management, and product launches with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and timely execution.
- Curious achiever to gather and analyze user feedback and industry trends to inform product decisions and to create a vision and product roadmap.
- Experience in understanding and prioritizing user needs and the intersection of technology to deliver positive business results.
- Skilled in project management to oversee and manage all aspects of solution evaluation and execution to ensure it is successful.
- Experience in evaluating Point-of-Sale and Back-of-House systems to meet stated and unstated business needs.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Analyze QSR applications, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization, specifically for Point of Sale and team member applications.
- Lead the initiation, planning, execution and monitoring of activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and achieve the desired outcome.
- Monitor project progress and performance, making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in Restaurant Operations, Marketing and Digital to gather and document business requirements for system enhancements or to introduce innovative solutions that simplify operations, elevate Guest experiences, and enhance Team Member performance.
- Design and conceptualize technical solutions and/or enhancements to platforms to meet business objectives and address identified needs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Coordinate the integration of various QSR systems, including point-of-sale (POS), kitchen display systems (KDS), inventory management, and integration with mobile ordering platforms and loyalty programs to streamline operations and data flow.
- Collaborate on the creation of use-case test plans with QA to ensure the reliability and functionality of system enhancements and/or new products and platforms, and perform user acceptance testing.
- Create training materials, and documentation to support the adoption and to streamline change management of new systems or system updates by restaurant staff.
- Maintain knowledge about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices within QSR to recommend and implement continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with Restaurant Support Operations to document technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve system-related issues promptly, minimizing disruptions to restaurant operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Proven experience managing large scale and complex projects in the Quick Service Restaurant industry, or related industries.
- Proficiency in systems such as POS, order management, and restaurant or hospitality workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and project management principles.
