Job description
We are seeking a full-time, experienced assistant buyer. The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude. Attention to detail and accuracy required. This position requires the candidate to work well independently as well as in a team environment, and have excellent communication skills. and possess strong organizational skills. We are looking for someone who is hardworking, and prepared to join our team for the long haul.
Job responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
- Support planner in implementing merchandising strategies to build assortments in order to reach sales targets.
- Track inventory levels and assist with inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained.
- Prepare and analyze sales reports to identify best-selling items and opportunities for product assortment improvement.
- Manage weekly allocations and re-orders.
- Maintain relationships with store managers and suppliers, facilitating communication regarding orders, deliveries, and product quality.
- Partake in by-door assortment planning.
- Analyze retail sales by location to identify opportunities for improving turn.
- Make recommendations on promotional pricing strategies and markdown cadence.
- Assist store teams with ecommerce fulfillment.
- Assist with writing /entering purchase orders, creating catalogs, and general data entry.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to support promotional strategies and product launches, planning and pricing, to ensure successful execution of marketing campaigns.
- Manage logistics for all entities- includes tracking of all orders.
- Support day-to-day administrative tasks related to the buying department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field.
- Previous experience in buying, merchandising, or retail, particularly in the jewelry or fashion industry, is a plus.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to work with computer applications and programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. (Required)
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct analysis, solve problems and make decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong sense of style and ability to carry out a strategic vision.
- Self-starter and adaptable to changing tasks/roles
