Job Purpose:
The Credit Administrative Specialist will play a pivotal role at INSBANK, providing the essential oversight and management needed to maintain the integrity and efficiency of our credit operations. This position is integral to ensuring that our credit processes not only meet but exceed industry standards, thereby supporting the organization's overarching mission and contributing to its long-term success.
Job Description:
Ensuring the timely collection and review of financial documents, coordinating loan committee activities, assisting in audits, improving credit processes, and participating in special projects. Work closely with various teams to maintain digital credit files, standardize procedures, and ensure data accessibility, contributing significantly to the efficiency and integrity of the credit operations. Develops partnerships with other departments for mutual goal attainment and coordination on mutual priorities. Contributes thought leadership for credit quality and may act as delegate on behalf of the department when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Monitoring:
- Collaborate closely with Commercial Loan Coordinators, Relationship Managers, and Portfolio Managers to ensure all required financial documents are collected in a timely manner
- Review financial documentation to confirm it satisfies the requirements of the respective tickler request
- Ensure financial documentation ticklers are in place according to the requirements laid out in the respective loan agreement(s)
- Maintain digital credit files in the nCino platform with consistent nomenclature for easy reference by other members of the Loan Teams
Loan Committee Administration:
- Work with Loan Teams to coordinate the Loan Committee agenda
- Collect and share credit packages with members of Loan Committee and other stakeholders via email and OnBoard
- Take minutes of Loan Committee and ensure approval is properly documented within the nCino platform
Audit Coordination:
- Provide support in managing FHLB borrowing base collateral, to include reporting and gathering documentation as part of the regular audit schedule.
- Assist Chief Credit Officer and Credit Officer as needed to gather documentation during Third-Party Loan Review, Safety & Soundness Examinations, and any other audits that may arise.
Process Improvement and Innovation:
- Support the Credit Team by developing standardized processes and procedures for recurring tasks to ensure consistency throughout the department
- Identify key processes that can be automated through existing technology and collaborate as necessary to implement
- Ensure credit processes remain in step with evolving loan policy
- Utilize reporting systems to ensure credit-related data is accessible in an efficient manner
Other Items:
- Work with Loan Teams to assist with construction draw requests
- Coordinate with Loan Teams and Loan Administration to review Borrowing Base Certificates and ensure proper tracking of BBC ticklers
- Collaborate with Credit Officer and/or Credit Analysis Administrator on projects that may require research and data mining
Other Key Job Functions:
- Communicate effectively with Senior Management, Auditors, Vendors, and other bank personnel.
- Adhere to all bank and department personnel policies and procedures
- Perform other reasonably related job responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Preferred in-depth knowledge of commercial lending practices, financial analysis, and risk assessment.
