Purpose And Job Summary
This role is accountable for developing and overseeing the IT organization’s strategy and its associated strategic investment portfolio. You will collaborate closely with key Executives and Leaders to ensure that the IT strategy aligns with business objectives, guiding planning and activities for the short, medium, and long term, including Strategic Plans and Annual Operating Budgets. Additionally, you will engage regularly with the Leadership Team across both Business and IT. The role will coordinate and partner across other departments including data solutions, technical solutions and the various lines of business. The candidate will be a strong problem solver working with business partners to understand opportunities to solve business, data and technical issues. The candidate will ensure projects are delivered in such a way that cost, quality, schedule, & benefits realization are controlled and achieved. The candidate must have the desire to work in a highly cooperative environment and be an owner in meeting the needs of the business and shared service stakeholders’ satisfaction.

This position has frequent contact with all levels of employees and management. In addition, this role may interact with outside business partners, vendors, consultants, and other office visitors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Transformation:
- Understand and translate business strategy into an aligned IT strategy and portfolio of programs, projects and applications.
- Drive IT Strategy development, refinement & management.
- Monitor and report on the progress towards IT strategic measures Qualifications/Requirements.
- Develops and articulates the IT vision providing a roadmap aligned to business imperatives, including investment plan and key change programs.
- Partners with key stakeholders to lead the creation of the overall multiyear strategy for IT aligned with business goals and priorities.
- Lead key transformation projects and provide support by facilitating business case, timeline development, managing progress to milestones, and refining benefits assumptions as necessary.
- Perform periodic benchmarks and assessments to calibrate IT performance relative to best-in-class organizations.
IT Portfolio Planning And Governance
- Partner with IT and Business leadership to establish organizational objectives and align the Portfolio with short-term and long-term plans (i.e. annual portfolio planning, and 3-5 year strategy).
- Facilitate portfolio governance efforts in a Scaled Agile environment and supporting bi-modal delivery.
- Partner with Executive and Portfolio leadership to develop and review lean business cases, linking business benefits to investments for funding and allocation requests.
- Establish flow using the portfolio Kanban, including facilitating portfolio sync meetings and working with epic and initiative owners to remove any barriers to optimize flow.
- Oversee the creation and review of key metrics, outcomes, and reporting related to key milestones and objectives.
- Inform organization at all levels of the company (up to and including AD CEO) of the status and performance of projects and RBS IT department. This includes executive-level reporting, departmental communications, etc.
- Participate in the identification and development of value streams within the portfolio.
- Partner with finance representatives to facilitate the lean budget process, including the implementation of guardrails.
- Provide coaching and guidance to help leaders adopt lean portfolio management principles and practices.
- Lead the portfolio governance processes, including intake, approvals, compliance, (e.g. P.E.G, PDC, ITPC).
- Develop and strengthen influential relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers, and partners at the senior management level.
- Ensure Portfolio governance processes and decisions are applied consistently across functional areas.
Leadership And Development
- Develop and lead a team of leaders and team members.
- Embody and role model a culture of servant leadership.
- Fosters teamwork at all levels through influence over authority.
- Act as the primary EPMO program manager/project manager for the Asset Management Platform project, unifying systems and business processes across the Asset Management and Investor Solutions teams.
- Be the primary Relationship Manager for all Asset Management technology and systems needs and ensure they are organized and prioritized.
- Ensure proper project planning, status reporting, milestone management, scope management, resource forecasting, financial management, change management. Ensure project dependencies are managed, prioritized, and effectively communicated.
- Prioritizes projects, requests and planning work for effective risk and change management.
- Acts as Subject Matter Expert for any questions or issues in the project and Asset Management.
- Acts as a project leader, driving project progress, leading teamwork, and supporting the project team members to succeed in their roles and responsibilities.
Required
Education, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance, Management or Business. Master’s degree or equivalent work experience across technology, business preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex portfolio for large IT organizations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to learning the business, systems, and processes.
- Experience with developing strategic materials and concepts for senior business and IT stakeholders.
- Consulting experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in creating and communicating strategic updates on progress against objectives to the highest levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to understand, explain, and present complex ideas to audiences at all levels persuasively and convincingly.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve positive results through influence, negotiation, and change management.
- Demonstrated ability to assess situations, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

- Minimum of 10 + years of practical expertise in developing and executing IT strategy and/or IT Portfolio Management.
- Good relationship management skills. Strong and demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills for reports and presentations.
- Be able to track the deliverables and milestones closely, bring to the attention of the client and all stakeholders of the priorities. Manage scope, schedule, and budget.
- Knowledge of profit accountability with an understanding of controlling project costs and budgets.
- Knowledge of benefits and dependency mapping, risk management and resource planning.
- Proficient IT skills in PMO tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ADO, Smart Sheet, Service Now.
- Ability to competently mediate disagreements and negotiate agreeable resolutions.

- Experience with financial services and asset management related systems (ex: Allvue products, Everest, WSO) and data solutions (Power BI, SQL).
