Overview:
Dovetail Partners (“Dovetail” or the “Company”)is a multi-brand restaurant group that owns and operates fast casual restaurant concepts across the South/Southeastern United States, including Zaxby’s franchises and Texas-based Hat Creek Burger Company. Already the largest Zaxby’s franchisee platform in the country, the Company is growing quickly and seeking an experienced IT leader to support the existing operations and prepare the business technologically for growth. Dovetail is headquartered in Austin, TX.
As the Director of IT & Digital, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of all aspects of the Company’s information technology systems and infrastructure and partnering with the CMO on all Digital initiatives. You will play a crucial role in aligning technology initiatives with the overall business strategy, ensuring that IT & Digital solutions drive operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and support business growth.
Responsibilities:
· Overall IT Strategy and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessment of the Company’s existing IT infrastructure, including systems, integrations, and end users. Evaluate strengths and weaknesses and prepare detailed plan to address areas of weakness (e.g., reporting, security/compliance, etc.). Develop and execute the IT & Digital strategy in alignment with the company's overall objectives. Identify technology trends and innovations that can be leveraged to maintain a competitive edge.
· Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and cloud services. Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of IT systems.
· Application Development and Integration: Lead the development and integration of software applications tailored to the needs of various business functions, such as point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management, customer relationship management (CRM), and online ordering platforms.
· Data Management and Analytics: Establish data management systems and protocols to deliver usable and actionable data to the organization. Structure collection of data and retrieval tools in a manner that empowers users across the organization to efficiently access relevant information.
· Cybersecurity and Compliance: Identify and eliminate security risks in current IT infrastructure. Develop and implement cybersecurity policies and procedures to safeguard the company's digital assets and customer information. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
· Vendor Management: Evaluate, develop and manage relationships with IT & Digital vendors, service providers, and consultants. Negotiate contracts, oversee service level agreements (SLAs), and monitor vendor performance.
· Team Leadership and Development: Build and mentor the Manager of IT, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
· Budgeting, Project, and Cost Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support business priorities while controlling costs and maximizing ROI. Prepare analyses to support internal IT initiatives. Provide weekly progress reports and present updates to leadership team.
· Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide strategic oversight of IT support services, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and effective communication with end-users.
· Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with and support cross-functional teams on IT related maters (across operations, marketing, finance, and human resources, etc.), to understand their technology needs and deliver solutions that drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
· Proven experience (8+ years) in IT leadership and people/constituent management role, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
· Strong technical expertise in infrastructure management, application development, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
· Demonstrated track record of successful IT & Digital strategy development and execution.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP, ITIL) and experience with PAR Brink POS are a plus.
- · Candidate resides in a Hat Creek market (DFW, Houston, Austin) is a nice to have, but must be willing to visit the home office in Austin, TX on a frequent basis.
