Based in San Francisco, the Associate will be a vital member of Enterprise Singapore’s team in the United States, supporting our mission to bridge the innovation hubs of the West Coast and Singapore. The San Francisco office focuses on establishing the framework strong partnerships with VCs, Incubators, Accelerators, and Universities to foster this connection. The Associate will be focusing on specific research projects/ initiatives to assess opportunities in emerging technology areas (e.g. Quantum, Material Science), as well as develop strategies and initiatives for implementation. The project timeline is estimated to take a year for completion and will be a one year contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Project Support:
- Support the team in developing and implementing strategies to achieve Enterprise Singapore’s goals in North America.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of events, roadshows, and other initiatives designed to promote Singapore as a global innovation hub.
Trend Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies within focus sectors: Biomedical, Clean/Climate Tech, Enterprise SaaS, Semiconductors and decarbonization efforts of California ports.
- Prepare reports and presentations to update internal stakeholders on market developments and inform strategic decision-making.
Partnership Development:
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders in the US innovation ecosystem, including VCs, incubators, accelerators, universities, and government agencies.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships that lower market entry barriers for Singaporean companies, particularly in California.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong interest and understanding of international trade, business development, and investment promotion.
- Domain knowledge and expertise in key technology sectors such as biomedical/life sciences, advanced manufacturing, climate tech, or digital are highly preferred.
- Prior experience working with Singaporean firms or handling international projects related to the innovation and tech sectors is a plus.
- Excellent research, analytical, and report writing skills.
- Confident presenter with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive projects forward.
- Full business proficiency in English is required.
