Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk with a background in government construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the invoicing process, posting accounts receivable, and performing bank reconciliations. This position requires a thorough understanding of government invoicing procedures, compliance regulations, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Government Invoicing : Prepare, submit, and track invoices related to government construction contracts, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Accounts Receivable Management : Accurately post payments and maintain accounts receivable ledger for government projects, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.
- Bank Reconciliations : Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are identified and resolved.
- Record Maintenance : Maintain accurate financial records, including customer contracts, payment histories, and invoicing documentation, for audit and reporting purposes.
- Collaboration : Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and external stakeholders to resolve any billing or payment issues related to government contracts.
- Compliance : Ensure that all invoicing and financial practices comply with government regulations, such as FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and other applicable guidelines.
- Reporting : Generate regular AR reports and provide updates on outstanding balances, payment schedules, and other relevant financial data.
Qualifications: - Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience as an AR Clerk, with at least 2 years in government construction invoicing.
- Education : Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- Skills :
- Proficient in Sage accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong understanding of government contracting and invoicing requirements.
- Experience with bank reconciliations and maintaining detailed financial records.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Government Regulations : Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, or other government construction regulations is highly desirable.
