Description:
The services sought under this statement of work are intended to provide sufficient staffing to meet USPS business needs. The Supplier must provide IT professionals who will be capable of working both independently and as part of an existing Postal team. The services and deliverables will include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
- Network Engineer/Email Gateway Administration

Approach:
- Administer Broadcom/Symantec Messaging Gateway
- Configure, administer, document custom policies for Email administration
- High level troubleshooting of network and application issues
- Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases
Activities will include:
- Email Gateway Configuration: Responsible for configuring and maintaining email systems, policies, and rules for email traffic filtering and monitoring.
- Security Management: The administrator is responsible for ensuring email security by managing email gateway security, identifying and mitigating email threats such as phishing attacks, spam, and malware.
- Capacity Planning and Optimization: administrator must monitor email traffic and identify bottlenecks, plan and optimize the email gateway infrastructure for maximum efficiency and performance throughput.
- Analytics and Monitoring: Responsible perform regular monitoring, logging, and reporting to track metrics such as email traffic, performance, and email gateway availability to ensure that SLAs are met.
Required Skills:
- Broadcom/Symantec Mail Gateway Experience
- Strong technical knowledge of email systems, including Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and other platforms.
- Proficiency in administering email servers, including configuring and managing user accounts, distribution lists, and email policies.
- Solid understanding of email protocols, such as SMTP, POP, and IMAP.
- Familiarity with email security best practices, including spam filtering, antivirus protection, and encryption.
- Experience in troubleshooting email issues, diagnosing and resolving problems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to integrate email systems with other applications and platforms.
- Excellent communication skills to provide technical support and guidance to end-users.
