Medical Records Clerk - Law Firm
Location: Bronx, NY (in-office)
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
Position Overview
The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining patient records in a Law Firm setting. This role ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory standards while providing support to the staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain patient medical records in electronic and paper formats.
- Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist medical staff in retrieving and processing medical records as needed.
- Handle requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Perform regular audits of medical records to ensure compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Prepare and update patient charts and documents as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bilingaul - Spanish - Required
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in health information management preferred.
- Proficiency in medical record systems and software.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
