Director of Marketing - Part Time
Location: Marin County
Compensation Range: $70,000 - $80,000
This is a part-time salaried position: 24 hours/week + events. Must be onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8-5.

The Marketing Director heads the marketing department and leads all marketing efforts in creating, executing and managing the annual integrated marketing plan and budgets for the organization. This includes developing and executing all elements of the marketing mix including; advertising, social media, Influencers, email marketing, PR, events, promotions, SEO and media relations to drive traffic and sales at the center. Manage all merchant and tenant signage, and visual brand identity. Maintain the strategic rebranding of the company's brand positioning, visual identity, logo, website and a monument, tenant and blade sign program.
What you will be doing
- Leads the development of Company's annual marketing plan and budget in support of property management company goals.
- Ensure and maintain accurate budgets and forecasts.
- Responsible for execution of all marketing plan programs/elements.
- Maintain and extend Company Brand/ logo and brand across all forms of communication & entities.
- Identify and create new brand-appropriate marketing and business opportunities consistent with the brand’s voice and positioning.
- Manage tracking of marketing priorities, event calendar and media calendars to ensure on-time deliverables.
- Negotiate advertising and outside vendor contracts.
- Manage Outside PR/social media, brand and design teams.
- Design digital and print ads to support events and Company brand.
- Design, write, edit and publish Company Magazine 2-3 times/year.
- Support the marketing efforts of 50 shops and restaurants in conjunction with Company brand, programs and events.
- Create and implement new events to maintain community interest and support merchants.
- Manage Instagram influencer program by creating new Influencer events to increase foot traffic.
- Grow Instagram presence as key marketing tool.
- Develop appropriate measurement tools to monitor the effectiveness and overall success of the various marketing efforts.
- Maintain marketing metrics and implement data collecting techniques tactics and procedures to include; Search Engine optimization, Pacer AI (for events), and local/regional patron demographics.
- Provide analysis and insight to measure and improve marketing program effectiveness.
Retailer Relations:
- Relationship building to encourage marketing efforts and cross promotions between merchants.
- Responsible for establishing effective business relationships with the retailers on an individual level to maximize their participation in marketing opportunities and retail success.
- Function as the primary contact for merchants related to business marketing and operations at the center.
- Hold inspiring monthly marketing meetings to engage merchants and keep them informed.
- On-board new tenants at and provide them with information for marketing and support.
Events:
- Attend all Marketing Events.
- Develop, plan, manage, promote and execute in-person and Influencer events throughout the year with hands-on management and event production.
- Coordinate outside service providers, vendors, volunteers, community groups, facility team, and merchants to ensure the smooth execution of each event (this includes non-profits, advertising, facilities, janitorial services, etc).
- Promote events via print, digital, PR and social channels.
- Provide a review after each event to measure effectiveness, suggest improvements for next year and review Budget.
Print and Digital Marketing:
- Lead development of advertising, collateral and marketing communications materials.
- Independently manage patron facing Website to insure it reflects latest marketing campaign, material is current, and events are updated timely.
- Maintain center signage.
- Responsible for concept, design and production of all marketing and sales materials.
- Maintain brand equity in all marketing communications.
- Maintain promotional items, graphic assets and inventory of marketing collateral.
- Ability to work cross-functionally between internal teams, external contractors, firms and vendors.
Manage the Company Brand:
- Responsible for ensuring that all brand standards are followed in communications and marketing program materials through the Center and in coordination with related entities.
- Monitor common area and store exteriors to ensure visual store messaging and appearance standards are met.
- Work with outside vendors, to ensure that Company messaging is consistent and conforms to brand voice and positioning.
Sign Program:
- Manage the tenant sign program coordinate with all retail tenants to ensure that tenant signage aligns with the Company brand and Tenant Sign Program.
- Create and manage updates to the sign program as need.
Center Merchandising and Poster Program:
- Advise and maintain empty store front windows with art, merchandising or promotion.
- Manage poster program for tenants to create promotional posters for at the center.
What you bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field. Masters preferred.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously ranging from strategy to execution.
- Ability to develop strategic solutions, marketing plans and budgets required.
- Familiar with the different advertising channels (print, digital, social), their benefits and key success metrics for each one.
- Ability and enthusiasm to be a hands-on contributor to the day-to-day management of the digital marketing and social media.
- Ability to write marketing copy including sales materials, press releases, and related items.
- Ability to ideate, plan, manage, promote and execute events throughout the year. Some weekend work for event management is required.
- Experience working with small businesses owners and solopreneurs a plus.
- Works well independently and with a small team; project management skills and creativity a must.
- Demonstrated ability in making brand-appropriate strategic decisions.
- Self-motivated with ability to take initiative and pursue opportunities.
- Must be proficient with MS Office.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Professional to enable simple updates and design of collateral a strong plus.
- Experience with technical programs for managing marketing content (web pages, mailing lists, etc).
- Must be able to present all of the above to Senior management team for approval of the concept and budget.
