Our client in the financial services industry is seeking a talented and experienced
UX Designer to join their dynamic team!
In this role, you will work on impactful projects, develop customer-centric solutions, and lead innovative design strategies for our client. This is a hybrid role in which candidates will have to be onsite 3 days per week in Chicago.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute design and research strategies for complex projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs across multiple product areas.
- Lead end-to-end design initiatives within a specific domain, diagramming service flows, designing wireframes, and prototyping interactions for key touchpoints.
- Serve as a role model in adopting inclusive design practices and accessibility guidelines while mentoring junior designers and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user experience design into product development, ensuring seamless, customer-centric solutions.
- Analyze market trends, gather user research feedback, and use data insights to inform design decisions and optimize user experiences across platforms.
- Learn and integrate knowledge from various facets of the financial industry, including economics, regulation, and technology, to enhance business acumen.
- Lead web and mobile user experience projects with a customer-centric design vision, balancing complex service architectures and technical requirements.
- Develop project artifacts including plans, diagrams, journeys, and conceptual prototypes.
- Identify opportunities to merge business requirements with customer needs to create market value and produce innovative product visions.
Qualifications: - Experience level: Experienced
- Education: Bachelors
- 5+ years of experience in user experience design or similar roles.
- Expertise in creating visual representations of user journeys, such as storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Strong experience in inclusive design and accessibility guidelines, with the ability to incorporate diverse perspectives into design solutions.
- Proven ability to develop customer-centric experiences and transformational innovation strategies.
- Advanced technical literacy, including an understanding of client-side technologies, APIs, and microservices and their impact on user experience.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams, connect stakeholders, and navigate rapid changes under tight deadlines.
- Ability to connect business goals to customer needs and apply creative problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively to engineers, product managers, and leadership while being receptive to feedback.
- Insatiable curiosity about customer needs, technological innovations, and how market trends will shape future paths.
- Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience in design leadership or management.
- Strong communicator with the ability to share methodologies, align approaches, and advocate for design recommendations.
- Capable of commissioning customer encounters and co-design sessions.
- Excellent facilitator with the ability to run workshops, engage stakeholders, and generate interest and excitement for design solutions.
