We are partnering with our Oakland, CA retail and consumer products client to recruit an eCommerce and Digital Merchandising Specialist to join their team on an ongoing contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring cohesion between the company's eCommerce, digital marketing and merchandising function, working on specific categories to ensure optimized and SEO compliant listings for the digital shopping experience. You'll work closely with traditional merchandising teams to ensure you have the visual content and understanding of product lines to drive cohesive and attractive product pages. You'll work strategically to plan and execute these programs with an eye on seasonality and promotions. To be a fit, you should bring 2+ years of D2C eCommerce experience with an understanding of the combination of merchandising, digital marketing and creative duties that drive eCommerce experiences. Experience with Demandware (Salesforce Commerce) is highly preferred, but other similar D2C platforms are acceptable. Excellent project management skills and experience in the retail or consumer products spaces are a must.

This is an full-time W2 contract role set for 4+ months that will be primarily remote, but candidates should be commutable to the East Bay/Oakland area a few times a month for onsite team meetings. This is a full-time, 40/hour week position with compensation ranging from $34 to $36 an hour, with potential flexibility for a perfect match.
You will:
- Serve as a partner to the company's creative, digital marketing and merchandising functions, working on specific categories to ensure optimized and SEO compliant listings for the digital shopping experience
- Work with cross-functional teams to create seasonal plans across categories
- Drive SEO content for product listings, pulling on knowledge of best practices to maximize opportunity for organic traffic to the site and product listings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to review and understand listing data and analytics, using data to inform strategy
Your experience should include:
- 2+ years of experience in eCommerce in the consumer products or retail space
- Excellent understanding of D2C eCommerce tools; Demandware/Salesforce Commerce Cloud, preferred
- Experience with Google or Adobe Analytics, highly preferred
- Experience working between digital marketing, merchandising and creative teams to drive cohesive, SEO-friendly product descriptions and landing pages
- Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
- Project management skills
