Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Digital Marketing: Paid Media will lead digital marketing efforts across paid media outlets for BBCA clients from a strategic and “hands on keyboards” tactical perspective.
The Associate Director has the important function of architecting BBCA paid media standards, executing high-performing client campaigns and leveraging precision-based paid media strategies to accelerate our client’s growth. This is a team of one with a roadmap to grow a department.
They are passionate about beauty and wellness and understand the Paid media ecosystem through all tactics. They actively participate within the digital ecosystem and are beauty/wellness consumers themself.
The Associate Director of Digital Marketing: Paid Media will support existing BBCA clients as well as business development efforts, sharing their expertise through real-world examples and bringing innovative thinking to our team.
Requirements Overview:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Digital Marketing/Social Media leading a team of 3+ FTE + Freelance Staffers at an agency on high-profile brands required.
Responsibilities:
- The Director of Digital Marketing – Performance Media will report directly to the COO and will be responsible for building and overseeing the fluidity of the digital marketing department across all functions
- As a leader, this individual will understand the importance of maintaining a standard of performance excellence while continually motivating and guiding a winning team as well as building scroll-stopping content and media for our clients
Technical Expertise
- Own end-to-end paid media strategy and execution for agency clients and biz dev opportunities
- Build team that will advance BBCA’s paid digital capabilities
- Build and maintain relationships with media and SaaS partners
- Represent paid media function in client-facing activities, providing thought-leadership and strategic thinking
- Oversee budget pacing and management, launching campaigns, optimizing campaigns
Holistic Collaboration
- Working cross-functionally with other department leaders to align marketing initiatives
- Contributing thought leadership around Digital Marketing activations throughout the agency
Best in Class Tools
- Leverage best-in-class tools, SaaS, AI to build strategies, deploy needle-moving tactics, and analyze performance of client campaigns
- Stay informed on new tools that would align with BBCA goals around client results, efficiency, and agency operations
Management
- Review Team’s project schedules to reality check timelines and bring up any concerns on internal status calls to Program Success Manager
- Accountability for all Team work going live timely & correctly
- Expertly manage your staff through all projects and deliverables ensuring internal/external satisfaction with output
- Review and approve all work of your direct reports before it goes in front of Client
- Manage and inspire success from your direct reports
- Hold at least 2 on-on-one meetings with each direct report per week to review work & progress and troubleshoot when necessary
- Working hand in hand with Direct Reports to develop their professional skills including but not limited to bell-ringing creativity, data-driven thinking, holistic collaboration, strong presenting, timely deliveries
Data Reporting & Analysis
- Build upon and elevate the agency’s analytics and insights function specific to your department
- Creating Content + Performance benchmarks YOY for clients to track towards
- Leveraging BBCA tech stack to create holistic monthly/quarterly reports
- Oversight for your team to present key reporting insights to client team once a month on client status call
- Ensuring Team understands the root of all data, how it is obtained/compiled and leveraged to create concepts for Client work
- Sharing Data with Agency Marketing team and overall agency to understand successes/challenges
Strategic and Creative Vision
- Lead holistic client program strategy on ongoing basis
- Support Strategist + Team to develop holistic editorial calendar
- Support Strategist + Team to concept big ideas
- Attend key in-person activations with clients (ie. in-person kickoff, PR/influencer events, trade shows, etc.)
Client-Facing Voice
- Lead finalization of presentation decks such as program strategies and campaigns
- Brand Expertise
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Client products/ingredients/points of difference
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the asset library, both agency created and client provided content.
Content Development
- Support Strategist + Team to develop monthly/quarterly data driven creative strategy
- Oversee process from start to finish for monthly/quarterly (depending on client needs and overall marketing campaigns) creative brainstorms
Content Review
- Review every piece of content before it goes to client with an eye for ownability, creativity, data-driven thinking
Social Media - Organic
- Pushing team to create effective and out-of-the-box Content + Performance strategies for clients that ladder up to Client Brand RTBs and marketing calendars
- Pushing team to use Data Insights and trend reports to create content
Leadership Team
- Participating in discussions around evolving current operating model, structure, capabilities and processes of the Digital Marketing team
- Defining and implementing flexible staffing models to accommodate variable workload including internal resource sharing, contingent workers and agency partnerships.
- Contributing to the creation and maintenance of a highly creative, flexible and collaborative atmosphere and culture, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
- Serving as escalation point for direct reports in addressing and solving complex problems as they arise.
- Monitoring the marketplace to benchmark and understand trends associated with creative service providers that can be leveraged in New Business conversations.
- Performing other duties and/or special projects as assigned
This is a mostly WFH role with pre-discussed needs for travel to client events and in-person team workshopping.
