Position Title: Cyber Readiness Engineer
Overview
Join our esteemed organization as a Cyber Readiness Engineer, where your expertise will be essential in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role is pivotal in ensuring cybersecurity integrity and enhancing our enterprise security posture.
Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

Shift: Day shift (Monday to Friday)
Travel Required: Up to 10%
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the MDA successfully navigates primary DODIN cybersecurity inspections such as CCRI and ESM.
- Assist with internal audits and contribute to the development of a Continuous Monitoring program.
- Conduct self-assessment cybersecurity inspections, creating and implementing remediation plans.
- Provide training on cybersecurity fundamentals to support remediation objectives.
- Enhance the security posture of customer networks through proactive and reactive cybersecurity strategies.
- Evaluate Cyber Task Orders against existing inspection protocols.
- Perform vulnerability scans utilizing tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS/Nessus) with minimal disruption to operations.
- Conduct thorough network security threat assessments, compiling detailed reports.
- Analyze and correlate events, vulnerabilities, and security technical implementation guides (STIGs) to identify indicators of compromise.
- Interpret log data employing various tools (e.g., ACAS, HBSS).
- Assess vulnerabilities in relation to known exploits within the enterprise cyber-threat environment and provide strategic guidance on network defense enhancements.
- Facilitate the development and updates of Tier III LCC procedures and documentation.
- Assist with host-based security across the enterprise using DoD Host-Based Security System (HBSS) components.
- Support Incident Response efforts in compliance with DoD regulations and guidelines.
- Generate comprehensive vulnerability assessment reports for further review.
- Create and manage queries and dashboards related to security tools like HBSS and ACAS.
- Review and update Computer Network Defense (CND) procedures and documentation.
Qualifications
- One of the following combinations of education and experience:
- High School Diploma (or GED) with 6 years of general experience.
- Associate's degree with 4 years of general experience.
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of general experience.
- Master's degree with no prior experience required.
- A minimum of 4 years of Cybersecurity experience.
- At least 1 year in a management or leadership role.
- Current experience supporting the IRES contract.
- Proficiency in interpreting SCAP scans to audit Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across various technologies, including Windows, Linux, and Cisco.
- Experience with ACAS Vulnerability scan reports.
- Knowledge of NIST 800-53 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+).
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Compensation And Benefits
This role is expected to offer an annual salary ranging from \(111,300 to \)136,300, contingent upon your experience, education, and relevant certifications.
