PROOFREADER – MARKETING – PART-TIME REMOTE
Our client, a major non-profit organization advocating for older adults, seeks an ad-hoc Proofreader for a part-time, 8-40 hours a week, 9-month contract assignment to be performed remotely. In this position you will support the in-house Creative Services department.
Work is ad-hoc and some weeks will be busy with work while others will not be busy at all.
Responsibilities
- Copy-editing and proofreading all original and acquired editorial content.
- Thoroughly examine body text, headlines, decks, captions, credits, charts and all other editorial components for corrections in spelling, grammar, punctuation and style.
- Examine photos and illustrations for any possible content problems. Identify possible mistakes and typos that may affect clarity, cohesiveness, balance, “missing pieces,” repetitions and other problems.
- Must be able to work quickly and independently with a deep base of knowledge and understanding what to look for while proofing densely written documents.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proofreading experience.
- Must be organized, timely and have great communication skills.
- Expert proofreading with thorough attention to detail needed for all original and acquired editorial content.
- Must be able to review and turn around a multi-page deck with proofer comments within a day or two.
