We are looking for an Director of Infrastructure and Technology to lead and oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Scantron’s Technology infrastructure, with a focus on cloud technologies, VMware environments, and advanced networking. This individual will ensure reliability, scalability, security, and compliance across all infrastructure components. They will work with the latest technologies and will be responsible for the day-to day operations computer systems, including the installation and configuration of software, hardware, and networks.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for any IT-related issues
Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues
Manage user accounts and permissions
Stay up-to-date with industry developments and make recommendations for improvements
Knowledge and understanding of higher education, governmental agency or corporate/industry information security, governance, risk and compliance practices and standards including but not limited to NIST CSF, ISO27001, SOC 2)
Prepare cost estimates for new projects
Write technical documentation
Coordinate with vendors to resolve problems
Provide Tier 2/3 support when needed
Develop and execute infrastructure strategy, emphasizing cloud adoption and virtualization
Oversee and optimize cloud infrastructure, VMware environments, and network architecture
Implement robust security measures and disaster recovery plans for the protection sensitive data
Optimize infrastructure performance and costs, particularly in cloud and virtualized environments
Collaborate with other departments to align technology infrastructure with business needs

Requirements

5+ years in leadership roles within Technology infrastructure
Strong understanding of compliance standards relevant to Tech infrastructure (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO27001, SOC 2)
Cloud technologies and migration strategies
Advanced networking concepts and implementations (e.g., SDN, VPNs, load balancing)
Cybersecurity best practices in cloud and on-premises environments
Proven track record in large-scale infrastructure projects and migrations

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools
Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
Experience with network security and data encryption technologies
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server & IIS
Experience with Microsoft O365, Active Directory, SharePoint, OneDrive
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
