The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) seeks an IT Security Specialist for a one-year contract. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating and enhancing the security architecture for CWIS.
- Integrate security protocols into container workflows and environments.
- Conduct vulnerability management and thorough threat modeling.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance requirements and implement necessary security controls.
- Design and configure robust network security solutions within a data center setting.
Required Skills
- In-depth understanding of security principles and secure coding methodologies.
- Proficiency in vulnerability management and risk assessment techniques.
- Extensive experience with containerization technologies including Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes (preferably Redhat OpenShift).
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks such as HIPAA and PCI DSS.
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or AWS Certified Security Specialty.
- Strong knowledge of the OSI networking model.
- Hands-on experience in designing and configuring network security at layers 3, 4, and 7.
