As a Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator, you will be instrumental in managing intricate data and database projects, facilitating initiatives that tackle some of the most urgent challenges in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Design & Management: Develop and oversee database architecture, integration, data modeling, and environments, ensuring security and audit compliance.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance database performance, capacity, and availability, including data recovery strategies and DBMS software updates.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve performance challenges, optimizing SQL statements for improved efficiency.
- Strategic Consulting: Partner with diverse client groups to deliver strategic data and database solutions while providing insights on data analysis trends and principles.
- Data Transformation: Formulate complex data transformation strategies for business intelligence and data migration while leading data mapping and model conversion efforts.
- Documentation & Leadership: Uphold comprehensive database support documentation, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with external consultants and DBA teams.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Tackle technical challenges across various technologies and develop customer-centric technology solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with DB2 for z/OS v12, Connect, HADR, and Automatic Storage.
- Familiarity with JCL, COBOL, CICS, VSAM, and VLDB databases, including partitioning.
- Experience in DB2 Data Replication and possession of DB2 Certification are advantageous. Knowledge of disaster recovery plans is also beneficial.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
