Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage the architecture of database systems, ensuring seamless integration and effective data modeling.
- Oversee the performance, capacity, and availability of databases, while executing data recovery and managing software upgrades and patches.
- Diagnose and rectify performance-related issues, optimizing SQL statements for enhanced efficiency.
- Provide strategic data solutions to various client groups, advising on data analysis methodologies and trends.
- Develop intricate data transformation strategies for business intelligence and oversee data mapping and model conversion initiatives.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database support, and provide mentoring and leadership to junior staff.
- Engage in technical problem-solving across diverse technologies, crafting tailored solutions for clients.
Required Skills
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with DB2 for z/OS v12, Connect, HADR, and Automatic Storage.
- Proficiency in JCL, COBOL, CICS, VSAM, and VLDB databases, including experience with partitioning.
- Familiarity with DB2 Data Replication; a DB2 Certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning is preferred.

- Demonstrated expertise in database management and performance optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- Prior experience mentoring and leading less experienced colleagues is advantageous.
