This project seeks to establish a solid tool and sensor framework to continuously scrutinize behaviors, identify anomalies, and set normal behavior and traffic pattern baselines.
Position: Database Architect
We are in search of a Database Architect to collaborate with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on the HBA implementation project. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the lead contact, overseeing the daily deployment, operations, and maintenance of the HBA technical framework. Your responsibility will be to ensure that the technical objectives are met within established timelines and budgets, adhering to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy scalable and secure database solutions tailored to organizational needs.
- Assess and recommend database technologies and tools to align with business objectives.
- Construct and sustain data models that accurately depict the organization's information architecture.
- Guarantee data integrity, consistency, and normalization across various databases.
- Continuously monitor and enhance database performance for optimal responsiveness and efficiency.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks; seek opportunities for database tuning and optimization.
- Implement and uphold data security protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards pertaining to data management.
- Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to effectively integrate database systems with applications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the development team regarding database-related inquiries.
- Formulate and implement backup and recovery strategies to avert data loss.
- Develop, test, and refine disaster recovery procedures for databases.
- Suggest enhancements and alternative solutions to improve the stability, reliability, and availability of the HBA.
- Collaborate with the team to create technical documentation, including development planning, technical architecture, and deployment processes.
- Participate in Change Management and Release Management Plans, making necessary technical adjustments as part of change management procedures.
Required Skills

- Experience in evaluating and recommending relevant database technologies.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. A combination of eight years of additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience architecting enterprise-wide database solutions.
- Previous experience with federal data warehouses and an understanding of government protocols and regulations is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Capacity to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.

Compensation And Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from \(77,096.24 to \)117,000, serving as a guideline that may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
