About The Role
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Range Data Analyst (NH-0301-03) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Test Engineering Group, 412th Range Squadron, 412th Range Operations Flight (412 RANS/ENRO) at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.
The Range Operations Journeyman Data Analyst performs data analysis and data operations of the squadron's internal data business cost programs and procedures, develops estimating and charging guidance, manages cost and resource guidance, conducts data analysis of resource estimates, actual use hours, and charges; manages reimbursement hour input procedures, and analyzes data from resource capacity program

Typical 2024 salary range: $101,121 - $156,323 (includes locality)
Telework Information: Up to 20% telework possible (must reside in local area)
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible
Direct Hire Authority: NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions. The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members.Desired Skills:
- 2 years of experience in numbers or data analysis desired
- 2 years of proficiency in developing Excel spreadsheet desired
- 2 years familiarity with flight test and test mission support desired
Major Duties
- Performs data analysis and data operations of the squadron’s internal data business cost program and procedures, develops estimating and charging guidance for the range cost programs and analysis of range resource utilization
- Manages the Range Cost Handbook program by preparing and coordinating range resource production services according to Range Operations Senior Data Analyst direction to meet reimbursable and direct budget authority requirements
- Manages the Range Cost and Resource Guide by developing the comprehensive internal range data business operations guidance describing the range resource production services, the COST production work center structure, and the resource service charging timelines
- Manages the Range Resource Capacity program by performing data analysis and data operations of range resource scheduling data, resource actuals data, Capability and Resource Estimate data submissions, and statement of capability data to compile and assess historical range capacity activity
- Performs pro-active data analysis and takes initiative to develop data spreadsheets to improve range business, cost, and operations programs
Qualifications/Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- Subject to Temporary Duty assignment travel approximately 30 days per year
- Strong ability to analyze range internal business data, data operations, and to develop decision quality information from that data to improve the cost, labor, and charging procedures
- Strong knowledge of policies and guidance to actively manage range internal business data, data operations, and cost data programs, and to analyze range resource data operations, cost service data, and charging data for accuracy
- Strong ability to create comprehensive range data spreadsheets for analyzing scheduled range resources, actual resource hour inputs, operations data, tracked resource hours, and resource hour estimates
- Strong ability to independently investigate range internal business data programs to resolve inaccurate data collection, and to analyze cost, labor hours, and charging data to correct errors or deficient procedures
- Strong ability to establish, interact, and maintain good working relationships with technical leaders, administrative leaders, work center leaders, and program managers
- Strong ability to communicate effectively using oral, written, or with computer software application skills in order to develop and present data analysis briefings and presentations which describe data trends to support problem resolution
