This position reports to the Labor Market Information Division in Columbia. Incumbent will serve as a data visualization and presentation expert, serving the Labor Market Information Division. Incumbent will be responsible for developing and employing data visualization tools and design ideas that convey complex reports and data in a user-friendly, intuitive, and simple manner.
Duties Include
- Assist in the development and maintenance of reporting tools, publications (including monthly newsletters and a series of annual reports), and design ideas that emphasize user friendliness in the conveyance of complex reports and data.
- Research and gather economic, demographic, employment, and labor market data needed for projects and assignments.
- Maintain and update detailed work-paper records of: data sources, assumptions, methodologies, coding notation, and processes for internal validation/replication.
- Assist with the construction and maintenance of dashboards and reporting infographics for external communication.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and relevant training and experience; OR any equivalent combination of education, relevant training and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position. Applicants must attach a portfolio that demonstrates data visualization experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Suite of products, including Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Power BI, plus the ability to learn and incorporate new software tools as they become available. Familiarity with Tableau, ArcGIS, and Adobe suite.
