We seek a skilled PeopleSoft Database Manager to oversee the secure and efficient operation of our PeopleSoft software and Oracle database systems. In this critical role, you will ensure that our essential applications, vital for both operational and academic functions, remain stable and high-performing.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Cultivate and guide a high-performing team to effectively execute strategic initiatives and uphold operational excellence across the application portfolio. Promote an environment that encourages collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional advancement.
- Database Oversight: Manage a team of PeopleSoft Database Administrators to optimize the performance and operational integrity of PeopleSoft applications. Diagnose and rectify performance challenges through tuning and indexing, while setting team objectives and providing direction to boost overall effectiveness.
- IT Service Management: Employ ITSM frameworks to proficiently manage daily database operations and incident responses.
- Security & Compliance: Develop and enforce security protocols to safeguard sensitive data within PeopleSoft databases. Monitor access, ensure adherence to security standards, and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations and procedures.
- Collaboration & Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with Information Security teams to address vulnerabilities and mitigate risks. Engage with application developers and system administrators to enhance database configurations.
- Backup & Recovery: Design and oversee robust backup and recovery strategies to minimize the risk of data loss and downtime. Conduct regular capacity assessments to anticipate future requirements and scale the infrastructure as necessary.
- Access Control: Implement and manage access controls, encryption mechanisms, and auditing processes to protect sensitive information.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 12 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership.
- Proficiency in PeopleSoft and Oracle Database systems.
- Familiarity with vendor ERP software.
- Knowledge of Linux or Windows Operating Systems.
- Ability to thrive in collaborative environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in developing and managing source code libraries and production software releases.
- Familiarity with database replication and clustering.
- Strong background with PeopleSoft software.
- Exposure to ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools including Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, GitLab, Vagrant, etc.
- Experience with network diagnostics, hardware performance, and storage analysis tools.
