Senior Product Manager - Wisconsin or New Jersey
My Product Path are working with a global electronics manufacturer to recruit a Senior Product Manager to join their high growth organisation. This role requires a depth of technical electronics experience coupled with strong levels of commercial & strategic experience.
The role itself set's to lead a small Product Management team with the need to grow this over a period of team & if you have regulated electronics experience this would be an advantage.
Senior Product Manager Role & Responsibilities:
- Analysing and understanding the market drivers across one of our core product segments, conducting horizon scanning and monitoring economic and industry trends to inform product strategy and positioning.
- Deeply understanding our customers’ behaviours, needs, wants and pain points through analytics and customer research to ensure our products resonance with target audiences.
- Staying ahead of the competition by identifying and gathering competitor intelligence, understanding their strategies, and applying game theory to anticipate market dynamics.
- Building a deep understanding of the features, capabilities, and potential cross-product value areas of ourmofferings, to make data-driven decisions in new product offerings and feature development. Validating our market understanding and identifying opportunities:
- Applying analytics and developing metrics to measure product performance and identify areas for improvement across cost, value, and pricing dimensions.
- Engaging in co-creation activities with customers, and leading user research and customer interviews, to gain insights and build strong customer relationships.
- Proactively identifying market threats and opportunities, including potential disruptors and acquisition targets, to ensure we remain at the forefront of our markets and remain leaders in value creation.
- Leading value proposition design efforts by identifying customer problems, translating product features into benefits, and staging features to create a differentiated product offering.
- Collaborating cross-functionally to develop and update business models for product/service offerings, including developing channel strategies, co-creation initiatives, pricing, and go-to-market plans.
- Rationalising product offerings to maintain a lean product portfolio, withdrawing products from the market and maximising the value of residual intellectual property at the end of product life.
- Working with engineering to scope projects, including jointly developing product specifications, deciding make/buy/partner strategy and planning project delivery, to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Facilitating collaborative design processes, enabling iteration, and validating features through feedback loops, to ensure that products meet customer needs.
- Taking charge of product development initiatives by creating clear objectives and key results, aligning, and activating cross-functional teams, and working with engineering leadership to balance delivery speed and technical debt.
- Validate product designs through rigorous design reviews, feature validations and customer
demonstrations, ensuring a high-quality product.
Sr Product Manager backgroundL
- Bachelor’s Degree in qualified in a technical discipline, Business Administration, marketing, preferably electrical engineering, and/or a related field or equivalent experience. Master’s degree or certification in postgraduate degrees or certifications in product management, strategic marketing, or business administration would be beneficial but not a necessity
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Management.
- Experience of working as a Product Manager throughout the full lifecycle of a complex electronic product, a blended hardware and software offering would be preferred but not a necessity
- Strong strategic and analytical abilities, with a proven record of making data-driven decisions.
- Experience of leading or supervising the work of product/development/engineering or strategic marketing teams.
- Compensation is circa $150,000-175,000 plus bonus & benefits, please only apply if you are looking in this area of salary.
