Position Summary
Reports to the Senior Manager of Data, Analytics and Reporting, and collaborates with Information Technology Services and Hospital Operations. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Business Intelligence Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced business intelligence/Tableau reports and all underlying data objects to support data-driven decision-making. The position will work closely with business stakeholders and data analysts to understand requirements and deliver high-quality visualizations and analytical solutions. Position will be asked to supervise a Business Intelligence Developer and provide insight on organizational data and report governance.

Essential Responsibilities / Duties
- Dashboard and Report Development: Manage the life cycle of advanced reporting and business intelligence analytics dashboards, including business requirements gathering, functional specification write-up, prototyping, development, quality testing, user acceptance testing, roll-out and post-launch enhancements implementation. Assist Finance and Operations in adopting a Business Intelligence culture and coming up with a report deployment strategy and roadmap.
- Data Integration and Design: Integrate and design data objects from multiple sources, including SQL Server data warehouse, ensuring high data quality and consistency, and prepare data for analyses. Position will be looked upon to understand data and write complex, efficient SQL scripts on these data and help guide Finance in its general use of data.
- Requirement Gathering: Analyze, study and understand business data requirements, user task flows and objectives to create design solutions for visual data delivery and analysis. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their detailed needs, perspectives, and requirements; and translate these inputs into technical specifications.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize dashboards, reports, and underlying data sources to ensure efficient load times and interactivity. Help set and meet BMC organizational business intelligence reporting criteria.
- Best Practices: Implement reporting and data handling best practices, including data visualization techniques, dashboard design principles, and security measures. Assist in the setup of organizational data governance and design and maintenance of Finance data mart. Evaluate new technologies for potential implementation including development of business justification and project implementation planning.
- Teamwork: Work cross-functionally with various departments, including business stakeholders and technical personnel, to exchange ideas and come up with optimal solutions.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users and other team members on reporting functionalities, data availability, and analytics packages.
- Documentation: Direct the method of comprehensive documentation for all Tableau dashboards, reports, and data sources.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to business intelligence reports, dashboards, and all underlying data.
- People Management: Manage a Business Intelligence Developer in performance management and training. Oversee and train other team members in best practices and advanced Tableau and scripting techniques.

Education
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field preferred.
- Minor in Business-related field preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required
- None required
- Tableau Desktop Certified Professional or other relevant reporting software certifications are preferred.
- Certifications in Epic, specifically Clarity and Caboodle preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Tableau development and data visualization.
- Minimum of two years of experience in people management
- Experience working in a remote or corporate environment preferred
- Demonstrated background working with business intelligence platform, large sets of data in SQL or other programming language.
- Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, QlikView).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs)
- Expert-level proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R.
