BrightKey is seeking a
Document Management Clerk to join our team in Washington, DC! The Document Management Clerk is responsible for the accurate organization, storage, and retrieval of company records and documents. This position involves maintaining both physical and electronic filing systems, ensuring documents are properly categorized and easy to access. The Document Management Clerk will handle scanning, indexing, and archiving records while adhering to the company's confidentiality policies. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential for this role.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly pay rate is $22.42 per hour plus $4.93 per hour health & welfare (total of $27.35 for all hours worked)

Location & Hours:
- On-site in Washington, DC
- Monday through Friday (first shift)
- Full-time (40 hours per week)
Required Experience for the Document Management Clerk:
- One year of document management experience is preferred. This would include filing, sorting and storing documents
- Experience in a legal setting is preferred but not required
- Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Prior experience with databases and/or document management systems and software is highly desirable
- This position requires candidates be able to obtain a Security Clearance which includes a background investigation and a credit check.***
Job Responsibilities for the Management Clerk:
- Initiate new cases in the Case Management System (CMS); prepare appropriate opening correspondence
- Receive and research unidentified mail to determine what case it pertains to
- Review, log and distribute approval packages; digitally scan the approval packages to the Document Management system (DM)
- Review weekly case reports and use this information to update cases in CMS
- Prepare documents for digital scanning to a database; review the documents after they’re scanned to ensure they were input correctly
- Review electronic documents and mail for information that needs to be entered into CMS
- Review and process all overnight packages received via FedEx and UPS
- Close cases and update case information in CMS based on case closing forms received
- from Case Managers
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders and keep balance with or without loaded boxes
- Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing 25 - 50 pounds as needed
- Ability to walk up to a mile in one trip
- Ability to file documents in file folders
- Bending and stretching to retrieve/place files on shelves or in storage boxes
- Ability to hand carry or load and push carts of files for delivery or pick-up within the building
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (copiers, desktop computers, printers, calculators, etc.)
