Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Web Administrator to join our team in supporting a distinguished university and research center. This remote position offers an exceptional opportunity to enhance website content and services across multiple platforms within the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL).
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with CTL personnel to ensure timely and accurate updates to website content, following established style guidelines and brand standards.
- Manage the editorial review and quality assurance process, delivering constructive feedback to content creators based on a comprehensive understanding of the editorial workflow.
- Ensure that all new and updated web pages are user-friendly, well-linked, and easy to navigate, while complying with university standards and accessibility regulations.
- Collect and maintain content from CTL and affiliated groups, creating new materials as required.
- Edit and resize images for web use, ensuring accessibility features, such as alt text, are included.
- Optimize web content for performance, which may include reformatting text, verifying hyperlink functionality, and executing updates using the Drupal content management system (CMS) and HTML.
- Identify and rectify content-related issues, including broken links and formatting discrepancies.
- Participate in Teaching Commons Web Team meetings and other relevant discussions.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to present concepts in an accessible and user-friendly manner.
- Proficiency with web publishing tools and a solid understanding of web standards and usability practices.
- Knowledge of user experience principles and information architecture.
- Competence in HTML and related website development technologies.
- General familiarity with office software applications is advantageous.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with educational and pedagogical content is preferred.
