This position involves complex case management work with significant administrative duties. The primary focus is on locating appropriate agencies and professionals for families, following specific judicial instructions. The Community Resource Services Specialist is responsible for facilitating and monitoring referrals, coordinating supportive programs, and maintaining ongoing communication with litigants and community providers. Additionally, the role requires the timely submission of documentation to keep the Court updated on the progress and outcomes of each case. Networking with community providers and ensuring that services are aligned with judicial directives are key responsibilities of this position.
This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work/onsite schedule after a 90-day period, as outlined by existing Circuit policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of office administrative tasks and case management work as required.
- Cross-trains on all aspects of Family Court Services (FCS) Community Resource Referral Program.
- Greets clients and facilitates intake in person or by phone to gather relevant information for case files.
- Facilitates referrals as required, locates appropriate service providers and monitors compliance with court directives.
- Drafts documentation for the court detailing parties' progress and compliance, provides correspondence, and distributes reports to involved parties and collaterals as necessary.
- Develops programs to enhance the community resource section of the unit, including the creation of new forms and procedures.
- Networks with community resources and providers to expand the unit’s resource list.
- Conducts site visits to community or private providers to ensure service quality and appropriateness.
- Records and facilitates statistical reports for Family Court Services on a quarterly basis or as needed.
- Assists in prioritizing work, establishing deadlines, and monitoring the workflow of referrals and other tasks.
- Collaborates with Family Court Services Specialists, Community Resource Specialists, and other team members to ensure effective service delivery.
- Contributes to the development of projects, programs and trainings.
- Coordinates with intra-agency personnel, the judiciary, and other external stakeholders as necessary.
- Performs related duties as needed to support the smooth operation of Family Court Services.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in social work, public or business administration, psychology, pre-law or or a social science related field.
- Two (2) years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Thorough knowledge of case management, legal secretarial practices, and administrative procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with attorneys, court staff, judges and the general public.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and data entry/retrieval systems.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
