Corient is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to manage our IT infrastructure and support M&A activities. This role involves administration and strategic oversight of IT systems, ensuring performance, security, and reliability. You will maintain system stability, address potential issues proactively, and implement measures to prevent disruptions.
In addition to daily operations, you will lead initiatives to enhance IT capabilities by adopting new technologies and best practices, optimizing resources, and driving transformative projects. You will also play a crucial role in integrating IT systems during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless transitions and alignment with our operational goals.
This position will report to VP of Technical Operations
Responsibilities
- Define the strategic direction for SharePoint within the organization, including governance policies, best practices, and standards.
- Partner with a 3rd party Systems Integrator under a broader transformational program to drive SharePoint Online as the Enterprise platform.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and align SharePoint solutions with their needs.
- Develop and maintain an effective SharePoint governance framework, ensuring compliance with security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Migration of on-premise or cloud file repositories into SharePoint.
- Deep Expertise with synthesizing Regulatory and Compliance Policies into technical delivery and solutions.
- Ability to synthesize requirements and define/build a technical roadmap that leverages agile best practices.
- Understanding of design and deployment features of Microsoft Co-Pilot and Document repository management a plus.
- System Maintenance and Monitoring: Proactively monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot our network, servers, and virtual environments to ensure high availability and performance.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard our systems, data, and network against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the existing SharePoint and Teams environment including efforts in enhancing and maintaining SharePoint sites, creating team and department portals/sites, workflows, reports and web parts, architecture, and user support.
- Provide technical expertise to develop, support, enhance, troubleshoot, and maintain the SharePoint, Teams, and other O365 Apps.
- Administer the environments and ensure they are compliant with good practices and standards.
- Design, develop, and implement content management, forms, and customizations where needed.
- User Support: Provide technical support and assistance to end users on hardware, software, and network-related issues; resolve problems promptly to minimize downtime.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and execute backup and disaster recovery plans; regularly test backups to ensure data integrity and availability in case of emergencies.
- System Upgrades and Patch Management: Plan and execute system upgrades, installations, and configurations; manage patch deployment and ensure systems are up to date with the latest security patches.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, procedures, and IT assets; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Collaboration and Training: Work collaboratively with IT team members and other departments to support technology initiatives and projects; provide training and guidance to users as needed.
- Work with end users and other support staff to configure, troubleshoot and maintain all layers of Microsoft 365 platform.
- Support migration to Office 365 using tools like Sharegate.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role in a corporate IT environment, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with migration of document management system or file repositories.
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript, etc) preferred.
- Experience in managing Azure Virtual Desktop or a Citrix environment.
- Proficiency in system security measures and best practices; familiarity with firewall administration and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently and efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), CompTIA Network+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)) are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. - This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.
