Job Description:
General Summary:
- Responsible for designing , implementing, and optimizing database solutions for an ECG data management product.
- This role encompasses maintaining, optimizing, and securing databases, implementing backup/recovery strategies, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, ensuring compliance with standards, collaborating on engineering solutions and maintaining documentation.
- Expert level skills in Database architecture and design are required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements, including data modeling and schema design
- Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and resource allocation
- Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity
- Monitor database health and performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and performance problems
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations by implementing access controls, encryption, and auditing
- Collaborate with software developers to design and implement efficient and scalable database schemas
- Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices
- Experience with Data Profiling (BI and Analytics)
- Stay up-to-date with emerging database technologies and industry trends to make informed recommendations for improvements
Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- At least 5+ years of professional experience as a database architect.
- Advanced knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.
- Prior experience with MySQL database is highly desired.
- Advanced knowledge of query languages like SQL for relational databases and appropriate query languages for NoSQL databases
- Advanced knowledge of backup and recovery strategies
- Expert skills in database design, modeling, query and optimization
- Expert skills in database performance tuning and optimization techniques
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
