Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Construction Project Coordinator at ONIT Construction Inc. The Construction Project Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects. This position involves working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supports the development and implementation of the overall work plan and schedule.
- Organizes and maintains project site files and documentation; oversees the electronic document database and file-sharing platform.
- Ensures all project documents, including drawings, plans, submittals, and purchase orders, are accurate and up to date.
- Communicates with architects, consulting engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding contract changes, design updates, RFIs, and RFQs.
- Prepares for and actively participates in meetings with the project team, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Compiles and distributes detailed meeting minutes promptly.
- Assists in final document turnover to the client upon project completion.
- Coordinates the resolution of deficiencies in a timely manner.
- Maintains project awareness to keep the Project Manager and stakeholders informed about the status and potential issues.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a project support role, ideally with an ICI general contractor or subcontractor.
- Proven experience managing commercial and/or institutional projects from inception to completion.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting contract specifications, drawings, and other construction documents.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in MS Office, including MS Project; experience with SharePoint and Bluebeam is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize workload and adapt to increasing project demands.
- Client-focused with a commitment to building and maintaining effective customer relationships.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn and embrace new challenges.
