Position Overview:
The Quality Manager will oversee the quality management processes on the shop floor while collaborating closely with executive leadership, including the CEO and board members. This role requires a dynamic leader who can seamlessly operate between various teams, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of quality control inspectors and technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Oversee all quality management processes, including inspections, testing, and audits, ensuring products meet industry standards and customer specifications
- Conduct internal and external audits, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance with industry regulations and certifications
- Collaborate with production teams to implement quality control methodologies that enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Interface regularly with executive leadership, including the CEO and board members, to provide updates on quality metrics, audit findings, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work hands-on on the shop floor, providing guidance and expertise in quality control to production teams
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and procedures in line with industry best practices
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of direct supervisory or management experience in the spring-making or metal-forming industries
- Proven ability to operate effectively between shop floor and executive levels, bridging the gap between blue-collar and white-collar work environments
- Hands-on experience in conducting quality audits and implementing quality management systems
- Familiarity with industry standards, including ISO, AS9100, or equivalent
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of implementing effective quality improvements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
