Data Engineer - Remote
Our client in the insurance industry is looking for a skilled professional to support the development and maintenance of Azure data pipelines, focusing on integrating data for advanced analytical use cases, including AI and machine learning. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and ensure smooth data integration across multiple platforms.
- Automate and optimize data processes to enhance business workflows and operational efficiency.
- Maintain and update the data architecture, including models, schemas, and dictionaries, ensuring consistency and quality in data preparation.
- Apply data governance policies to uphold security, privacy, and compliance.
- Utilize big data and cloud computing best practices to create efficient, scalable data solutions.
What you will need to succeed:
- University degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering).
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
- Advanced experience automating data pipelines and working with data transformation tools.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and C#.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational data modeling.
- Experience with SQL queries, Databricks, and SQL Server.
- Advanced experience with cloud technologies, particularly Azure and Data as a Service (DaaS).
- Familiar with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in the automation of ETL workloads.
- Experience with data processing, performance analysis, tuning, and capacity planning.
- Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and experience with collaboration tools like Teams and JIRA.
- Familiar with production release and operational support models.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
