Summary:
Are you a dynamic nursing professional with a passion for quality care and effective management? Join our team as a Clinical Nurse Manager, where you'll oversee care management across North Carolina program sites. This role involves ensuring clinical services meet medical necessity criteria, managing payer authorizations, and guiding staff to deliver best practice, evidence-based treatment. Your leadership will be pivotal in quality assurance, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management & Quality Assurance: Oversee clinical services, ensuring they are supported by documented medical necessity. Administer client care and guide care management staff.
- Staff Development: Assist in creating and delivering training programs. Provide indirect supervision, direction, and feedback to care management staff.
- Regulatory Compliance: Develop and enforce policies ensuring full regulatory compliance with state, federal, and CARF regulations.
- Performance Improvement: Engage in performance improvement activities and participate in accreditation, licensing, and other surveys/audits.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain routine contact with multiple stakeholders, including payers, clients, and program staff.
Daily Duties:
- Analyze the effectiveness of care management and oversee service delivery data submissions.
- Conduct independent chart reviews to ensure medical necessity.
- Engage in regular communication with staff, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop and implement electronic tools and protocols to streamline processes.
- Stay updated on changes in authorization protocols and billing codes.
- Produce detailed reports for supervisors and corporate staff.
- Observe and provide feedback to staff to foster development.
- Handle patient complaints and coordinate corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
- Current, valid NC state license/certification for Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 1 year in utilization management; 3 years preferred.
- 5 years in a management position supervising others.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of CARF standards and care management principles.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
Physical & Work Environment:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and talk or hear.
- May be exposed to viruses, diseases, and infections from consumers.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Will work in various environments, including potential exposure to outside weather conditions and wet/humid conditions.
- Must have a valid NC driver’s license and reliable transportation.
