The role of Operations Analysis & Performance (OAP) is to support this mission by providing strategic insights by first understanding business processes and then leveraging data and analytics to drive continuous improvement efforts. The role of the candidate is to further harness the power of data by making it accessible, available, and curated for reporting and analysis. The candidate will be asked to work closely with leaders to develop creative solutions to current challenges. We are looking for data curious individuals who seek to understand process and can connect with our business partners to leverage data and drive improvement.
We are looking for data curious candidates who enjoy thoughtful debates about how strategy, business process improvement, and analytics impact the way Delta reliably serves its customers. Responsibilities
- Locate and extract data from a variety of sources for use in analysis, models and project development.
- Clean and curate datasets (with input from leaders) by researching new data sources and collaborating with other business units to determine the best source for the data, aggregating views into meaningful hierarchies.
- Develop and improve automated reports and analyses to support senior divisional leaders and business units.
- Create insightful executive-level and frontline dashboards using data visualization tools.
- Create accountability tools such as scorecards and performance reviews that focus on KPIs that drive the business.
- Understand drivers of the KPIs through various analyses and work closely with the business team to create solutions and present findings to business leadership.
- Have a team first attitude with the success of our team and business partners as the top priority.
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- Be intellectually curious, ask questions, and speak up when they have an idea.

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)
- 3+ years of experience in analysis, information science, data visualization, or other relevant quantitative field preferred.
- Successful candidates will have familiarity and/or experience with some or all of the following: Microsoft Suite, SQL, SAS, R, Tableau, Python or other database interface tools and languages.
- Must be comfortable working in group and individual settings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously and manage multiple requests with varying timelines.
- Track record of seeking leadership roles including student and community organizations.
- Must be performing satisfactorily in the current position.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Business/Management, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics or other relevant quantitative field
- Previous experience in operational roles
- Previous experience with analytics
