Dispatcher Pay: $60,000-$75,000 (DOE)Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. (1-hour lunch break)
Position Overview: Manage and ensure arrivals and deliveries, load and unload flatbed trailers, box trailers, and rail cars go smoothly. In addition, delegate tasks to shipping and truck driver employees, and train new hires. This role also has elements of an HR position involving interviewing and enforcing policies, procedures, federal and state laws, and company safety rules.
Position Description:Track productivity and hold forklift operators accountable to expected production targets based on the timeline of tickets that need to go.Supervise and train assistant, yard, and truck driver employees to meet company standards.Liaison with sales, production, yard, purchasing, and shipping to maximize order fill rate and ensure field operations are not delayed.Coordinate activities between order entry, order staging, and delivery.Schedule all activities, including deliveries, to satisfy customers’ needs and maximize efficiency.Inventory of yard every FridayAccommodate customer will-calls and provide exceptional customer service.Maintain constant familiarity with stock on hand and status of orders in process.Drives a forklift to assist in loading and unloading of trucks and rail cars.Drives a jockey truck to assist in moving loaded and empty trailers.Review customer paperwork when picking up lumber or trusses.Collaborate with multiple departments such as: sales, designers, estimators, and production.
Position Requirements:Must have e 5+ years of experience in management, lumber yard supervisory, construction, and building materialsCDL Class A required & Must be Forklift certifiedMust have experience of direct supervision over other employees in a shipping/receiving environmentExperience using computer software programs that generate load sheets and delivery tickets from sales orders is required.Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.Experience loading trucks from load sheets and then producing delivery tickets from those load sheets.Knowledge of lumber math, lumber grades, and species.Must have a minimum 2-year experience with rail operations (inbound).Forklift operator experience is required. Completed forklift operator training.Thorough understanding of the dispatch and shipping industry
